Abidemi Akanji (Manager Relationships)
Abidemi Akanji holds a BA in English from University of Jos. After a stint with THISDAY newspaper as Distribution and Cordination Officer, Abidemi started her career in the oil and gas industry as Operation/Liaison Officer at Besse Oil and Services, and moved on to Petroleum Projects International Ltd as Deputy Manager, Operations. She later became the Business Development Manager. From there, she joined PPI as Business Development Manager. She was Responsible for developing new businesses and establishing new relationship with companies with related interest and oversaw sales/marketing initiatives. She created linkages in trading petroleum products, Liaising and maintaining relationship with Total Nig. Ltd, Mobil Nig. Ltd, AP etc.
She has also worked in many positions overseas, acquiring skills that have greatly enhanced her abilities in coordinating on/offshore operational activities. Companies where she worked in Ireland include Pulp Recycle Ltd as Customer Service/Sales Executive, IBM Software Group as Head Procurement Sales and later as Business Development Manager of Complete Telecoms
Abidemi has attended many courses locally and overseas, including the College of Petroleum and Energy Studies, Oxford, England and the Project Management Course on Quality and Procurement at ITB College, Blanchardstown, Ireland
At SPOG, she has developed manuals guiding operations and has been involved with assessing and monitoring market trends with government agencies and major traders.
